The Best Deaf-Created ASL Instagram Accounts to Follow (2026)

Graphic reading, "Best ASL Instagram accounts to follow in 2026" with ASL handshapes and instagram-style camera design

If you’re learning American Sign Language (ASL) and exploring Deaf culture, Instagram is full of inspiring, educational, and engaging ASL creators. Bite-sized posts that can give you practice, inspiration, or even food for thought—all in ASL. It’s a perfect way to get a little daily ASL exposure.

But not all of it is actually ASL. Sometimes it’s BSL or Auslan. Sometimes hearing creators share what they are still learning themselves, which either may not be correct, or it may be a mix of ASL and another signing system—not something to follow along with or emulate. It can make it hard for new signers to tell the difference.

So, I want to set you up with the best ASL Instagram accounts to follow. Deaf ASL creators you can trust and want to keep coming back to as you continue learning.

This list intentionally centers Deaf ASL creators — both to support their work and to give you a window into ASL as it’s lived and used every day within the Deaf community.

How I Chose These Accounts

I chose these accounts with the following criteria:

  • Deaf creators
  • ASL is the primary language used in their content
  • Regular, original posts
  • Content that’s appropriate for a general audience
  • I genuinely enjoy and come back to these accounts

By the way, this doesn’t show all of the amazing Deaf ASL creators on Instagram, or even all of my favorites—just those meeting this criteria.

Deaf ASL Instagram Accounts to Follow

Here are some of my favorite Deaf ASL Creators on Instagram based on the content they share.

Lifestyle Creators

Today I Awaken (@todayiawaken)

Leila Hounami is a Deaf mom, wife and creator who shares her family life and perspective on a myriad of subjects.  An awesome storyteller and signing songstress, she was also the featured ASL signer for the Barbie movie on streaming services.

The Kinwoven Acre (@thekinwovenacre)

This is an awesome Deaf family with 4 kids that runs a small-batch homestead business in Canada. Highlights include their daily farm activities, projects, recipes and perspective—in ASL, of course.

Ashlene Rae (@ashlene.etkie)

Ashlene Rae shares her take on fitness, food, and lifestyle. Great recipes, tips, and perspective.  She’s fun to watch.

Such a Lovely Red (@suchalovelyred)

Rach is a fabulous Deaf vlogger, poet and inspirational speaker with an AuDHD perspective.

Deaf Humor, Advocacy & Commentary

deaf.that(@deaf.that)

Hannah Fishr often delivers hilarious takes on commonly experienced situations by Deaf people. Watch, laugh, and learn.

reallyrenca(@reallyrenca)

Renca Dunn is hilarious.  Because of this she’s found a magic advocacy channel – she made us laugh, so we’re listening.  And to her, I wish everyone would.  She is a tireless, creative advocate for Deaf children and people everywhere. But even if she wasn’t, I think she’d do this just to amuse herself.

itsbrettshaffer (@itsbrettshaffer)

Brett Shaffer sometimes plays allllll the parts, or involves his family and friends in these zany ASL reels that definitely land with us Deaf folks!

ASL Literacy, Practice & Learning-Focused Accounts

Mikka Coburn (@aslbloom.mikka)

Mikka Coburn is Deaf and the official creator for the ASL Bloom app. As a teacher, I LOVE her reels, especially for students because she gives targeted practice arranged by ASL topic — in IG-sized bites!

The ASL Shop (@theaslshop)

The ASL Shop is really fun to watch!  From fingerspelling challenges to categorical vocabulary, this is clear, straight up ASL.

Outdoors and Adventure in ASL

Scott and Shayna(@scottandshayna)

Scott Lehmann & Shayna Unger are Deaf mountaineers at first glance.  After two seconds (because you will watch more than that –- your mouth will still be hanging open) you realize what gifted athletes, storytellers, extreme sport enthusiasts they are. So, so watchable.  Not only for the beauty of the incredible parts of the world they are showing us, but for their larger than life, tangible descriptions of their journey. Beautiful, vibrant ASL is a part of the trip.

pinesandpeaks (@pinesandpeaks)

Jennifer Love is a Deaf outdoor enthusiast based in Southern CA. Go along on her hiking and camping adventures! She also shares her lifestyle advice and perspective–all in ASL of course!

News, Interviews, and Commentaries

The Daily Moth (@thedailymoth)

Straightforward current and Deaf-related news, reported in ASL.

Elsie Stecker (@elsiesue)

Elsie Stecker gives a diplomatic, journalistic political commentary on current events in ASL. Note: most of her reels are not captioned, so this would be best suited for intermediate to advanced ASL learners–but beginners should take a gander, too!

Melmira(@melmira)

Melmira loves to shake things up with intriguing interviews, conversations and narratives. Honest and relatable, she offers a really unique view into Deaf lives.

Art, Creative, Entertainment

58 Creativity(@58creativity)

Brittany Castle is an incredible Deaf graphic artist/artisan! She produces incredible, clear ASL materials of the highest quality, so I’d recommend checking out her shop whenever you need printables or other ASL products. When she’s not creating new art, she often shares her perspective here.

igordjenge(igordjenge)

Igor Djenge’s IG is like no other I’ve seen, personally. He approaches Instagram like a visual art form. No pretense.  He just shows up.  Kinda like if Buster Keaton had an IG. Silly physical stuff. Something for everyone.

catchrosa(@catchrosa)

Rosa Lee Timm is a talented long-time Deaf performer who shares a little of everything including her musical inclinations (via signed songs), family life or just her down to earth perspective on this or that. Humble, watchable, relatable.

DEAFinitely Dope(@deafinitelydope)

ASL music interpreting by a Deaf performer. He shares his lighthearted perspective on a range of surrounding topics too. Really fun to watch — and learn from!

WAWA(@wawasworld1)

Wawa is an old-school (sorry, man you’re my age) musical artist and Deaf performer. He shares his faves and perspective with his legion of fans.

SavvyASL (@savvyasl)

Savannah Dahan is a young Deaf signing songstress who has appeared in numerous mainstream hearing productions. Most of her content is musically based. So if you’re interested in how popular songs would be signed in ASL, this is the account to watch!

ASL Everyday

The best way to practice ASL is with consistent exposure. Obviously you need to find ways to practice it in real life, but following creators like these lets you see how ASL is naturally used in everyday life–by Deaf people!

Pair this with structured learning and real-time interaction, and your ASL skills will continue to grow.

Cheers!
